Bridal Showcase coming to Keokuk Saturday

Plans for the ninth annual Bridal Showcase at the River City Mall in Keokuk are nearing completion.

“This year’s event will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday,” said Nancy Gibson, event coordinator for the Daily Gate City. “Being the first show of the year, we are expecting to have an overwhelming crowd.”

This year’s co-sponsors, The Colony Show and Bridal Loft of Fort Madison and Johnson Schmidt Men’s Wear of Keokuk, will host a continual viewing for wedding attire throughout the day. Tuxedos, cheap wedding dresses, brides-maid dresses and other formal wear will be shown throughout the day.

This year’s vendor list is still growing and there are still a few places left for a business that caters to the wedding crowd and would like to make this one stop shopping for them in a highly concentrated market.

Vendors to date include The Colony Shop and Bridal Loft, Fort Madison; Johnson Schmidt Men’s Wear, Keokuk; Fort Madison Elks Lodge; TOP DOGG Productions, Keokuk; and Mary Kay representatives Jan Filkins and Sandra Shipman.

Others include Photo by Flambo, Warsaw, Ill.; Cathy Allison, Wildtree Products, Fort Madison; Fusion Light and Sound, Keokuk; Dyall Photography, Mount Pleasant; Wrap It with Kelli, Montrose; Lakehill Winery, Carthage, Ill.; Hy-Vee Catering, Keokuk; Executive Transportation, West Burlington; Bonnie’s Bridal & Prom, Macomb, Ill.; Mississippi Valley Photography, Keokuk; Red Wagon Sound, Keokuk; HealthSource Chiropractic, Keokuk; Royal Prestige/RPI Bridal, Des Moines; and Jimmy’s Catering, Montrose.

In addition to some of the vendors having door prize registration at their booths, the bride-to-be can also register for several large give-a-ways.

Vendors will start their set-up early Saturday morning and the Bridal Showcase will officially be open from noon to 4 p.m. Free food, free advice, free entertainment is just some of what this year’s bridal party will get to enjoy at the ninth annual Bridal Showcase.
